B.L.O.O.D. Brotherly Love Over-rides Oppressive Destruction
This was an interesting documentary where one of the sets/tribes of the East coast bloods aka The United Blood Nation are visited and interviewed. This documentary basically spends a day with some of the east-side Bloods "lil homies" from a section of NYC known as "Murda Hill". It was very interesting to note some of the differences between the west coast's bloods and east coast bloods. The most heavily noticed difference was the fact that the east coast bloods do not "set trip" or "color bang" like the west coast bloods is famous for. I wish they interviewed more older east coast bloods though, they pretty much stuck around the young dudes...the young dudes ussually wouldnt be privy to the meat of what their thing is all about. Even still there are very few documentaries about the east coast Bloods so i appreciate this film for finally going after a story that should have been analyzed nearly 15 years ago when the east coast bloods first began...if we had noticed and analyzed this...
needs to be more diverse
this was the first "Hoodz" dvd i've ever seen... it was okay. i give the Hoodz crew props just for getting these stories... going where no one else goes to get them... and actually coming out in 1 piece, so props up to them... this dvd was okay, i've seen better, but it was alright... i wish they could of talked to some OG's, and not just the young ppz in this set. also, they centered on the blood set, Murda Hill. i wish they could have interviewed some other sets and not just all this set.
they also interviewed, female rapper, Remy Ma too... don't get me wrong, i like Remy Ma, i think she's a good rapper, but she only contributes to the dvd on how it was when she was growing up. i don't know if she was ever in a gang, but she doesn't mention if she was on this dvd. she mostly says how it was/is to live in the projects around this stuff. i don't know why "Hoodz" to me, wasted their time w/ Remy Ma. the Remy Ma footage would of been a great opportunity to go get some...
